A special assembly on Gurpurab was conducted by children from Kindergarten. They celebrated the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with great honour, pride and respect. The assembly started with the rendering of shabads, followed by a poem in Punjabi. A sense of peace and tranquillity pervaded all around, as the children showcased their melodious performances.
Thereafter, information relating to the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji was shared by the little speakers.
The children also displayed the cultural aspect of the celebration and festivities in Punjab, by displaying a Prabhat Pheri (morning round), with the ‘Panj Pyare’. They shared the message that ‘Amrit Vela’ is not just an early morning time, but it is also extremely important to wake up early by overcoming the desire to sleep more, become disciplined, gain a spiritual lifestyle, and pray to God in those hours.
The educators decorated an area in the junior wing, with a board depicting the five Udasis and three main teachings of Guru Nank Dev ji – Naam Japo, Kirat Karo and Vand Chhako. Post the special assembly, the children visited this area. It was an enriching and joyous experience both for the Children and the Educators.
