STRAWBERRY FIELDS HIGH SCHOOL, CHANDIGARH MUN 2025

Our school participated in SFHSMUN 2025, held from July 25–27 at Strawberry Fields High School, Chandigarh, wherein our team of 10 delegates, namely, Bilawal Singh (11 A)  , Pratap Singh Ahluwalia (10 IG), Suchir Dashottar (10 A), Rivaan Rampal, Hershal Bhardwaj and Arnav Chandna from (10 C), Mannat Rikhy, Zeenia , Udai Pratap Sandhu and Karman Kaur Bhatti from (10 D), demonstrated diplomacy, leadership, and critical thinking skills while tackling real-world and historical issues.

Our delegation took part in five diverse and intellectually rigorous committees and debated rigorously on agendas:

  • UNSC – Debated on the Iran-Israel conflict with focus on UAV use and aerial sovereignty.
  • UNODC – Addressed the synthetic opioid crisis and strategies to reduce juvenile narcotic mortality.
  • AEC – Examined the 1954 inquiry into Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer’s Q Clearance and government role.
  • JCC – Simulated the political dynamics of Partition, frozen at July 1, 1947.
  • FoTR – Assessed the German Foreign Office’s role in the Holocaust and wartime foreign policy, frozen at July 15, 1942. The Foreign Office of the Third Reich (FoTR) delved into the historical agenda of Assessing the Role of the German Foreign Office in Facilitating the Holocaust and Coordinating Foreign Policy with a freeze date of July 15, 1942.

Across committees, our students performed with conviction, using diplomacy to shape debate, build alliances, and negotiate solutions on sensitive and high-stakes issues and following delegates won the awards:

  • Mannat Rikhy received a Special Mention for her role as State Secretary, Auswärtiges Amt (Ernst von Weizsäcker) in the Foreign Office of the Third Reich, where she handled the gravity of her portfolio with insight and confidence.
  • Arnav Chandna earned a Verbal Mention in the Atomic Energy Commission as AEC Chief of Security (William L. Uanna), where he helped steer conversations around nuclear oversight and internal threats.
  • Bilawal Singh was also awarded a Verbal Mention for his impactful contribution as People’s Republic of China in the UNSC, navigating a high-tension debate on Middle Eastern geopolitics.

Beyond accolades, each of our ten delegates  actively  engaged in shaping the course of committee discussions—upholding democratic values, challenging ideas respectfully, and thinking critically at every stage.
