Culture is the thread that joins humanity together. The Montessori Casa, where a child is from two and a half to six years of age, gives an opportunity to explore the larger world.
Culture is accumulated over a period of time and is passed from one generation to another. Therefore, we have a greater responsibility and we offer the children culture including botany, zoology, celebration of festivals and special days, geography, art and craft, music, dance and dramatics. This helps the children to adapt to their time and place.
Children of the Montessori Environments got an opportunity to showcase the rich cultural heritage of our country India through their Musical Mornings. Through music and songs, folk dances, dialogues and enactment, they depicted that India has a diverse culture. The children of the environments also celebrated festivals like Janamasthami and Ganesh Chaturthi together. They got the opportunity to swing Lord Krishna in a cradle in the school premises. The little ones enjoyed viewing making of Lord Ganesha’s clay idol by their class educators, Ganesh Sthapna in the classroom and then Ganesh Visarjan. This was a fun-filled learning experience for the young Montessori Learners and they also picked up how to associate prayers, hymns and songs with the festival being celebrated.
