CONSERVE MY PLANET

GREEN CHAMPIONSHIP

The ‘Conserve My Planet’ program, launched on September 25th, 2024, is a dynamic initiative aimed at educating and empowering young students to be responsible citizens, emphasizing the importance of energy conservation and environmental sustainability.

Throughout the program, students engaged in five interactive sessions led by Ms. Akansha Chitchot from Schneider Electric India Foundation, with support from teacher coordinators Mrs. Bindiya Khanna and Mrs. Abhidha Nirmohi. They learned how to conduct energy audits to assess and conserve resources at home and school, while also participating in a creative activity where they designed posters to promote environmental awareness.

During a field trip, the students visited a petrol pump to conduct a carbon footprint survey, stepping into the role of Green Ambassadors.

The program culminated in the Green Championship on February 13th, 2025, where our student team, consisting of team leader Adiraj Singh with Gurmehar Singh Sidhu, Sanchit Nanda from Class 8D, and Ragnya Thakur from Class 8B excelled in both the model and PowerPoint presentation rounds, ultimately securing the championship title. Their project, titled Restoring Resources: Creating Green Spaces for a Sustainable Tomorrow, earned them recognition. In addition to winning the competition, the team also received the award for Best Green Practices School.

Mrs. Bindiya Khanna, the coordinating teacher, was awarded with the ‘Energy Star Teacher’ appreciation Award for her significant contribution to the program.

The students had an enriching experience, learning the importance of responsibility in sustaining our environment.
