An Educational Trip to ISRO-Sriharikota

A group of 25 students from Classes 10 and 12, accompanied by Ms. Suvrita Sharma and Ms. Abhidha Nirmohi, went for an educational trip to Chennai from 15th to 17th April where they visited ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota on 16th April, for an enriching educational experience. As India’s primary spaceport, SDSC offered students a unique opportunity to witness the practical applications of science and technology beyond the classroom.

During the visit, students explored key facilities including the Mission Control Room, launch pads, and the Mobile Service Tower, gaining firsthand exposure to India’s space research and launch operations. Interactions with ISRO scientist provided valuable insights into satellites, launch systems, and the immense precision involved in space missions. These experiences helped students connect important scientific concepts such as energy, forces, and innovation with their real-world applications.

Beyond academics, the trip also encouraged teamwork, responsibility, and leadership amongst students. The visit inspired students to appreciate the role of science, innovation, and research in shaping the future and solving global challenges.

Overall, the experience broadened students’ perspectives, strengthened their understanding of science in the real world, and left them inspired by the limitless possibilities of space exploration and technological advancement.
