World Scholar’s Cup Global Round
Shivank Kakkar and Vedansh Rajput from 8 A, accompanied by another team member from Chandigarh, participated in the World Scholar’s Cup Global Round held at IIS, Dubai (UAE), from December 15 to 19, 2023.
They competed against 44 teams from 33 countries. They brought laurels to the school by winning top positions in various events.
In the Scholar’s Challenge, they bagged the first position whereas in collaborative writing, they were declared the third-best team. Shivank Kakkar bagged the third position in the individual category.
In the Scholar’s Bowl, they bagged the seventh position. In debate, they won all three debates, and on the basis of their cumulative score, they were declared the third best team of the tournament. Vedansh Rajput was selected for the final debate showcase.
In overall performance, Shivank Kakker bagged the 6th position, whereas Vedansh Rajput was declared 7th out of 132 participants.
Their spectacular performance helped the team bag the runner-up trophy. They also qualified for the Tournament of Champions, which will be held at Yale University in the United States in November 2024.
