To commemorate and celebrate the spirit of freedom, the Department of History held an Inter -House History Quiz Competition for classes 6, 7 and 8 on Saturday, August 19, 2023. The theme of the quiz was Patriotism- ‘Nation First, Always First’. The quiz was dedicated to our defence forces. To grace the quiz, we had two veteran officers of the Indian Army, Col Sanjiv Puri and Brig Deepinder Singh Sarao as our guests of honour.
Col Puri was a part of the Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka and has held various positions of authority guiding the building of roads in border areas. Brig Sarao is a qualified helicopter pilot and has served in various combat and peace time locations.
The house teams were named after the infantry regiments of pre-independence India, namely The Madras Regiment represented by Vikramashila House
The Punjab Regiment represented by Gandhara House
The Rajputana Rifles represented by Nalanda House
The Gorkha Regiment represented by Taxila House
The quiz comprised of four rounds namely Sanyojan (potpourri), Rahasyamay sutra (clue based), Drishyam (visual) and Bir-Bar (quick thinker)
