Block B of the Lower Elementary classes, namely Amazon, Mississippi, Yangtze and Indus, unfolded a splendid panorama of patriotic songs, poems and dances through a special assembly held in the school auditorium, to commemorate the adoption of the constitution of India on January 26, 1950.
The audience was given a walkthrough of India’s rich cultural heritage and military prowess, by some powerful young orators on stage. This was followed by an array of colourful performances by the environments of Block B.
The Head of the JW, Ms. Meenu Sahi, in her address to the audience, encouraged the little ones to ponder over the meaning of ‘Republic’ and the importance of having a ‘republican’ community within the classroom, putting across the idea that in order to thrive harmoniously as a group, we must all follow a consensually framed way of life, whereby everyone practises equality for all the members. The impressive program concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
